Taste of Boston Art Exhibit

Art takes the forms of many media some of which are painting, pastels, watercolor, and photography. The perspective of art is in the viewer's mind, which is what makes every piece and exhibition unique. At The 808 Gallery located on the Boston University Campus of the School for Visual Arts you will find an artistic display of work by students and professional artists alike. Very often art exhibitions will benefit a nonprofit organization with art sales and auctions. A Taste of Boston (Art Exhibition) is one of those occasions where you can experience great art and support the Boston University Academy.

The Boston University Academy was established in 1993 to educate and inspire talented students with a love for learning in all academic disciplines. Boston University Academy is located on the Boston University Campus where high-school students can take part in university life and specialized programs. The faculty consists of doctorate- and master-degreed teachers with an 8:1 student-teacher ratio. The money raised from A Taste of Boston (Art Exhibition) will go directly to support the academy.

The art exhibition at The 808 Gallery is open to emerging and professional artists who work or reside in the Boston and surrounding areas. Artists may sell their work with 25 percent of sold work benefitting the Boston University Academy. The artist may also choose to donate more of the sale or the total sale to the academy. No donated work is accepted for the benefit. A separate auction is held to benefit the Boston University Academy. This auction is for ticketed supporters and auction pieces are preselected. No exhibition artwork is auctioned.

All art media is accepted for this curated, juried exhibition. There is no entry free and a focus is given to the artists who work and live around the Boston area. The exhibition at The 808 Gallery is open to the public, and light food and drink are served to visitors.
